Hello Everyone... last month i have to apologize. The blog was as little bit without updates... the holidays and all the related stuff.. but this year we got a lot of stuff to have fun.
The sql server 2008 will be lauched soon and we have a lot of things to check out.
to start i sugest you take a look at pauls randall's blog (http://www.sqlskills.com/blogs/paul/2007/12/31/InsideTheStorageEngineWhenDoVersioningTagsGetAdded.aspx) this article in the hyperlink discusses the myth about and overhead on using snapshot isolation level. When you are in a snapshot transaction and you got multiple versions of rows some of these versions are marked as ghost records, and you can identify that via dbcc page.
